Temple Bar is a cool cocktail restaurant that’s perfect for late night snacking and sipping sugar rimmed martinis. On the weekends, you don’t have to be an early riser to make it to brunch, served until 4 pm!

Atmosphere: 8
Temple Bar is a trendy restaurant where you can sink into circular booths or sip chocolate martinis at the copper bar. Huge mirrors scale the brick walls, with city-style lights that hover from above. Flowing draperies section off the lounge area up front, where cushy seats have a great view of the sidewalk activity.
Menu: 8
Phantom went for brunch, served Saturday and Sunday until 4 pm! The American menu is limited but varied with breakfast or lunch bistro fare.
Appetizers: 7
Starting with brunch appetizers, the fried calamari piled across a plank with a glorious, golden crust that spiced up with a garlic cilantro dipping sauce. The fruit and granola “martini” came in a cool glass, but the second-rate fruit leaked so much water that it was more like yogurt soup.
Entrees: 8
For the main course, the awesome eggs benedict sat on an extra-thick English muffin with luxurious prosciutto slices instead of hum-drum canadian bacon. The brioche French toast aligned in perfect, eggy slabs with golden griddle imprints, topped with soft, carmelized bananas.
Dessert: 8
Dessert was a highlight, with heavenly chocolate fondue for two warmed over a flame and served with a spread of fresh berries, biscotti and marbled pound cake for dipping, dunking and devouring.
Portions: 8
Portions vary for every appetite from light to loaded with hash browns.
Service: 7
Phantom’s server disappeared now and again but came through with tasty menu suggestions.
Cleanliness: 8
Cleanliness was great, including around the lounge area up front, with cushy seats and a perfect view of the sidewalk.
Value: 8
Brunch prices are completely tame at $7 to $12 per plate. Dinner entrees are $9 to $28.
Location: 7
The busy location between Harvard and Porter Square has metered parking.
