The Maine Diner sticks to tradition with huge plates of soulful Yankee fare. Their lobster pie is the best Phantom has ever had, packed with an awful lot of claw and tail meat under a buttery cracker crumb topping. Unlike other diners, they put on a modern twist on their blue plate specials. The lobster benedict and lobster club sandwich are perfect examples. The Phantom Platter is an entire meal of the Caped Critic’s favorites: seafood chowder, an eight ounce sirloin steak, baked shrimp, baked scallops, and homemade onion rings. This has to be one of the only diners in the country that grows its own herbs and vegetables out back.
